Day 12-12-12 - unwrap a new Christmas book

I love Christmas books!  see Sara's face, she wanted the Bad Kitty book, by the end of the day though she was happy with her llama, llama book.

Also tonight we sent up our letters to santa in the fire, they girls wrote their letters Monday and we wanted to do the fire that evening but it snowed and so we couldn't light the fire but tonight worked great.

Day 11 - Make a Christmas ornament

Todays isn't finished yet, the salt dough is baking then the girls will need to paint and I will need to put on a layer of clear coat, inspiration from here - via pintrest - and pics of the work in progress.  Kate only made 3 and kept saying she didn't feel so good, so I made a few extra for her, if they turn out I am thinking they will make cute teacher/grandparent gifts, Sara loved making them and made 8.

Day 10 - Write a letter to Santa

No picture - but my girls are cute, they don't nor ever have had huge Christmas wish lists. Kate asked for a fake bow and arrow, not to aim at Sara but to only use for hurting robbers and have fun, and also for a punching bag.  Sara would like clothes for her American Girl doll and whatever else is on her Christmas list under the tree.  (its another small list with pictures from the American Girl catalogue of some things she would like).  I love how different my 2 girls are:)

Day 8 - Ride on the North Pole Express

In Heber they have a railroad that has been running since 1899, on it now they have a bunch of specialty and scenic excursions, one of which is the North Pole Express.  You board the train and with elves on board you get to sing carols, drink hot chocolate and have a visit from Santa and Mrs Claus.  Way, way, way overpriced but it was a one time thing for us and super fun for the girls.

Day 6 - Trim the tree

Its beginning to fell a lot like Christmas.... we finally put up the tree, our tree is a little challenged and needs some new decorations, next year, for this year we are going to stick with old and homemade, it was so fun to watch the girls go through the ornaments and recognize which ones they had made.
