New Display Board

Does your child bring home craft things they have made at school/pre-school/church that you don't know what to do with? Mine does so I came up with this-

For all the things Kate brings home from school, I feel slightly guilty to just throw it all away as soon as she brings it home so I made this big memo board for my kitchen, then each day we put up the beautiful things she brings home, they stay up for the whole month and the 1st of the next month it gets cleaned off for the next months treasures. I don't feel guilty about throwing it away as we have displayed it for a good amount of time and I don't feel like I have to keep/store any of it either, if she does indeed bring home something I want to keep I save it for the scrapbook.

Fevers and fun

Wow, so neglectful of the blog lately, had the computer on all day to do a post and only getting round to it now. As I uploaded the pictures from my camera I realise that it has been way too long. Anyway, the girls have been sick, running fevers, coughs, sore throats and ears since Wed night, hopefully they sleep it off tonight, we have been laying low. Yesterday Eric had to take some pictures in Venice so we took the opportunity to stroll around the canals there, very peaceful and pretty, we then took the girls down to the Santa Monica Pier to ride the carousel, they loved it and rode it 3 times with their 100º fevers and all, are we bad parents?

The canals are really pretty, in defense of our taking sick girls out we did just bundle them up in the stroller and they rode the whole way, the only time they got out was to get onto the carousel which they would have ridden another time if we had let them...

Can't beat the carousel, kids under 6 are free, 50¢ if they are over and an adult is $1, also if you liked the canals there was a house for sale on the canals, it was a main house with 2 separately fully functioning guest houses all on one lot, very pretty and reasonably priced at $6,500,000!!

It was fun, not like the movie but it worked.

Merry Christmas

I had many grand ideas for cards this year, needless to say it didn't happen as I had planned, the time is flying by these days and I can't keep up. All that said I mailed something today, they probably won't arrive before Christmas but that's just how the cookie crumbles, I didn't have every one's addresses either, so for all of you who check my blog, Merry Christmas from the Thompson's, we feel blessed if you count us as amongst your friends.

So the other day whilst I need the girls to be occupied for a little while I suggested to Kate that she write a letter to Santa from her and Sara, here is what she came up with (she's 5)...

Kate loves tigers and Eric was sharing this with his boss Dean, when he went into work today he found this in his chairEric and I feel so blessed to know such amazing and generous people, THANK-YOU Dean, I think Kate will be one of the happiest girls around on Christmas morning.
