Let me preface this by saying that I am in no way political
, to start with I can't vote, I know who the candidates are of course but not much else. Yes this is probably naive of me but I just wasn't raised in a household that talked politics. Anyway, for May our book club book was A Thousand Splendid Suns, it follows the lives of 2 Afghan women and spans 30 years. I know the war right now is a hot topic and I have been pretty indifferent, I am sure there are plenty of good arguments for or against but if you do have strong views against the war maybe you should read this book, the life it paints of the people that live there, and by that I mean THE PEOPLE, not the ones in power the ones just like you and me, for them the war is making a difference for the better. I would also recommend getting this one on CD, the narrator Atossa Leoni does a remarkable job.
